After I wrote the piece below for DailyKos, I read with interest and respect the responses by Arab-Americans to the situation in the Middle East. Having just written about my cousin's work with Combatants for Peace, I realized I was missing a vital link, some amazing writing, and the opportunity to truly forge a united American voice for peace in the Middle east. I humbly and enthusiastically seek submissions from Arab Americans interested in contributing to this project. Details (updated) are located in the Call for Submissions.

I have also extended the deadline for submissions until 4/15/09. Although we have received a handful of amazing essays, we are committed to making this project all that it can be.
